Judy comes to The River and gets us laughing every Tuesday or Thursday. This week it is Thursday at 6:00 p.m.. It really is a lot fun and a great family activity. I feel so light after we do it.
Hope to see you.

Life can be a bowl of cherries, especially when the cherries
are ripe. It’s fresh cherry time in Michigan and the best time to enjoy this delicious
and nutritious fruit. Cherries are in abundance right now at your
local grocery store, farmer's market and along the roadside on your summer
travels to beautiful northern Michigan. Did you know that Michigan
produces close to 75 percent of the nation’s cherries, both sweet and tart? The
sweet cherries are ripe now and they are low in calories and an
excellent source of potassium and vitamin c.
Some of the best health benefits that cherries
have to offer do not always show up on the average nutrition fact charts. A
cherry's "secret ingredients" can be found in its
anti-inflammatory, anti-aging and anti-cancer fighting agents. Quercetin, a flavonoid found in
cherries, has been shown to exhibit significant anti-cancer benefits and it has also been shown to offer protection power
for both allergies and asthma. “The American Cancer
Society’s Guide to Complementary Alternative Cancer Methods”,
has touted Ellagic acid, also found naturally in cherries, as a
promising natural supplement for its anti carcinogenic properties.
Cherries are a natural snack that is low in calories and high
in nutritional value. Have a bowl of cherries and it may change
your outlook on the entire day. Support your local farmers and
choose Michigan cherries. Sweet cherries are
harvested by hand.

Cherry Republic is a "must visit" if you are in town and it is worth
a special trip. Where else can you find over 170 cherry items?
The summer is a time when families gather and memories are made. Are you looking for a way to capture these memories for posterity or just thinking ahead to getting a family photo on the beach for your holiday card ? My photographer friend Lauri Dailey, is coming to Glen Arbor and she would like to schedule some photography sessions while she is here.
This is an incredible opportunity. Lauri has been photographing my children since they were very young. She has a talent for capturing the essence and innocence of children in natural settings. She makes the adults look good too. A beach session in the sweet light would be beautiful.
To schedule a session, visit her website and contact her directly.
Monday,
August 10th- Saturday August 15th in the beautiful Glen Arbor area.
